Finance Committee · Meeting of October 26, 2026
CARVER — The Carver Finance Committee unanimously recommended five warrant articles, including a $141,350 reserve fund transfer, ahead of the town's December 1 special town meeting. Members approved transfers covering unpaid bills from Striker Sales and a select board plotter purchase totaling $10,725.20, new revolving fund accounts for police detail cruiser fees and beach/field revenue, a solar credit partnership expected to save roughly $50,000 a year over 20 years, and four solar payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreements. A proposed increase to the middle-high school stabilization fund was tabled pending state Department of Revenue clarification on funding rules.
A town official also disclosed a projected $1.3 million health insurance deficit tied to a switch away from the dissolved Gateway Health Group, on top of a prior $4 million deficit, which the select board is still reviewing. The committee also approved August 24 minutes and appointed Mary Keefe to the capital outlay committee.
