Lakeville's Fire Station Building Committee approved more than $600,000 in contractor payments and two change orders as construction races to enclose the building before winter. The panel, chaired by Lorraine Carboni, approved a roughly $601,000 Page Building Construction payment application plus a $36,074.37 retainage reduction, along with invoices to its architect ($13,566.99), owner's project manager ($15,724.80) and testing firm ($180). The committee was told delays "went on and went on" with MassDOT on the town's waterline extension, prompting an $8,875 contract increase for engineering firm PAR.

The committee also approved a $2,833.06 change order for elevator-room electrical work and an $11,850.25 waterproofing credit. Members discussed, without voting, converting the station's kitchen from propane to electric and finalizing a time-capsule location before concrete work proceeds.
