Hingham Voters Head to Polls Tuesday for State Primary

HINGHAM — Hingham voters cast ballots Tuesday in the Massachusetts state primary, with absentee voting available at Town Hall Monday until noon and the marquee U.S. Senate Democratic primary between Sen. Ed Markey and Rep. Seth Moulton topping local interest, according to Hingham Patch's voter guide.

The town's News Flash reminded residents that in-person absentee voting was available Monday, August 31, until noon at Town Hall for voters who will be away Tuesday, have a disability, or hold a religious belief preventing them from voting at their polling place. Election Day itself falls Tuesday, September 1.

The Select Board and Town Administrator's office also posted its weekly update for the week of August 31, part of a new outreach program meant to give residents meeting notices, upcoming events and other information ahead of each week.

Separately, the town reissued its drought reminder: Hingham remains at Level 2, Significant Drought, meaning lawn irrigation stays prohibited and only essential hand-held watering is allowed.
