Hull School Committee unanimously approves FY27 budget for town meeting vote

HULL — April 13, 2026 — Hull School Committee unanimously approves FY27 school budget for town meeting. The committee voted without dissent at its April 13 meeting to send the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget to town meeting, following a public hearing that drew no comment from residents. Principal Eric Shaw reported that the high school's new business pathway enrolled 99 students across three courses in its inaugural year, with student entrepreneurs operating a print shop called HK Customs and fielding orders from two outside customers; the district projects 40 students requesting the introduction course alone next year. Dual enrollment credit through Quincy College — covering pre-calculus, calculus, and forensic science at $300 per course — will be offered free to all eligible students this spring through grant funding, with a Bridgewater State University partnership targeted for fall 2027. The committee also voted unanimously to reappoint the superintendent to the South Shore Educational Collaborative board and adjusted a May 6 community strategic planning session from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. after members flagged that working parents who commute would be unable to reach Hull in time.
