Kingston Weighs Town & Country Sewer Hookup
Kingston Sewer Commissioners discussed connecting the Town & Country housing complex to the municipal sewer system.
Water · Meeting of October 14, 2026
Kingston Sewer Commissioners discussed connecting the Town & Country housing complex to the municipal sewer system. Sewer Commissioner Brian Donahoe said the engineering firm CDM is finalizing a design contract, with work roughly 50 percent complete and construction possible within a year if the project keeps its spot on a state funding priority list. Town & Country representative Joaquin Basler, filling in for board president Stephen Delano, said "the cost is going to be the one thing that people are going to be looking at" as the complex weighs refinancing a mortgage maturing in 2027.
Commissioners discussed potentially saving roughly $500,000 by routing wastewater by gravity instead of building a new pump station, and set a public hearing for November 4 to review sewer rules and regulations and connection cost-sharing. No vote was taken on the connection itself; commissioners later voted unanimously to enter executive session on a personnel matter.
