Norwell Library Launches Laptop Lending Program Amid Budget Cuts

The town's Tier 4 Water Restrictions, first posted June 17, remain the most consequential notice on the town's News Flash feed, signaling continued strain on the water supply as summer use ramps up. Separately, the Advisory Board continues to seek applicants for open vacancies, with a stated deadline of July 31 to apply. The Housing Authority also held its Annual Plan Hearing in late May, and the town's page for Jacobs Island notes it remains closed to public access.

The Norwell Public Library announced a new Device Lending Program, making four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops available for take-home checkout. Residents can call the library or visit the Main Desk to learn more about borrowing terms.
The library also announced it was awarded a technology grant worth over $35,000 through a state program, funding that appears tied to the new device offerings. At the same time, the library confirmed that due to budgetary cuts, it will no longer offer seasonal Sunday hours, with details on the FY26 budget and its impacts posted on the library's website.
