KINGSTON — The Personnel Board took no action on a request for more vacation for a new water superintendent. Water Commissioner Robert Koska and Human Resources Director Tina Betti said only two of six or seven applicants hold the required licenses, and the town is under a DEP consent agreement. Candidates want about four weeks of vacation, up from two, and at least one seeks pay near Step 10 rather than Step 3.
Members said a bylaw change would need Town Meeting approval, so speakers pointed to a temporary contract running to about July 1. The board also voted to retract its motion to remove the flag attendant position from the bylaw and approved the Town Meeting amendment-deadline memo and August 17 minutes.
