Plymouth Youth Hockey has announced a September fundraiser weekend, including a cornhole tournament and a free community skate.

PLYMOUTH -- Plymouth Youth Hockey's website is promoting two new season-kickoff events for community members to mark on their calendars.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Plymouth Youth Hockey is hosting "Toss for a Cause," a cornhole tournament fundraiser, on Friday, September 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the VFW on Seven Hills Road. The league says the event is open to all, including those who don't want to play cornhole, with food, drinks, games and a 50/50 raffle, and that all skill levels are welcome for those who want to compete solo, with a team, or as a youth team. Proceeds support Plymouth Youth Hockey's ice time, equipment, financial aid, coaching and programs. The league is also holding a Family Skate from 10:00 to 11:50 a.m. and an equipment swap on Sunday, September 20 at Armstrong Arena, where families can bring gently used, clean hockey gear to trade with other PYH families. Plymouth Orthodontics is listed as a sponsor of the fundraiser weekend.
