Plympton Town Properties Committee sets fire station listening sessions for February

PLYMPTON -- January 7, 2026, Plympton's Town Properties Committee scheduled two public fire station listening sessions and disclosed an open meeting law complaint at its January 7 meeting. Chairman Pierre Boyer announced sessions for February 2 at 6 p.m. and February 7 at 10 a.m., both at Town Hall, where the committee plans to present 10 years of emergency call data, five years of ambulance fund records, and fire chief staffing assessments, with no architectural designs shown at this stage. Boyer described the goal as keeping any eventual project "as tax neutral as we can," though no cost estimates or timeline to Town Meeting were offered. The committee also disclosed it received an open meeting law complaint the same day related to a January 5 gathering, and set a special meeting for January 14 at 6 p.m. solely to review the complaint and vote to authorize Boyer to forward the committee's response to the complainant and the state Attorney General. On the existing fire station, Boyer reported state regulators accepted short-term fixes for three outstanding citations, including covering an electrical panel with plastic and an internal policy banning standing water in the bay area, while two additional citations remain unresolved.
