Plympton Town Property Committee votes to release improper executive session minutes

PLYMPTON — February 11, 2026 — Plympton's Town Property Committee voted unanimously four times to remedy an open meeting law complaint filed against it in January. Town Counsel Matthew Skydell of KP Law advised the committee at its February 11 meeting that the Purpose 3 executive session called at the January 5 meeting — covering collective bargaining and pending or threatened litigation — did not legally cover the discussion that actually took place, which concerned gathering project documents related to a stalled fire station construction project. The committee voted to release the January 5 executive session minutes to the public, to vacate a motion made during that session, to request a joint meeting with the Select Board and town administrator to address the project's status, and to authorize town counsel to respond formally to the complaint with the Attorney General's office. The chair noted in open session that a water supply installation connected to the project carries a year-end 2026 completion deadline regardless of whether the fire station itself moves forward.
