Recreation Commission · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Kingston Recreation Commission freezes beach sticker fees, raises shellfish parking rate to match. The board kept resident and non-resident beach parking stickers at $30 and $60, then voted to lift shellfish parking stickers from $20 and $40 up to the same rate. Members also heard a pitch from a K-Lax and KYSA representative for a precast concrete practice wall, tabled pending a site visit and an insurance check since "the town of Kingston is self-insured." The recreation director warned a turf-maintenance cost increase could push the Kingston Youth Sports Organization's annual field fee from the low $60,000s toward $70,000 to $77,000, calling it "a lot of money to ask the sports organization." Two Recreation Commission seats are on the May 16 town election ballot.
