Tier 4 Water Restrictions Hold as Holiday Weekend Arrives in Norwell

Tier 4 water restrictions, the most stringent level the town issues, remain in force as Norwell enters the holiday weekend, a timely reminder for residents planning outdoor gatherings or lawn care over the coming days.

TOWN HALL

Norwell's Tier 4 water restrictions, posted by the town on June 17, continue in effect. Tier 4 represents the highest restriction level under the town's Water Restriction Program and limits outdoor water use most severely. Residents should check the town's Water Department guidelines before any irrigation or outdoor water activity this weekend.

The town also has several open volunteer positions on its Advisory Board, with an application deadline of July 31. Residents interested in serving on this body, which plays a key role in the town's annual budget process, can apply through the town website at townofnorwell.net.

Separately, the Housing Authority's Annual Plan Hearing, noticed in late May, remains part of the town's active public-process calendar.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Norwell Public Library has two notable developments for residents this week. The library recently launched a Device Lending Program, adding four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touchscreen laptops available for take-home checkout. Residents can inquire at the Main Desk or call the library at 781-659-2015 for details.

The library also received a technology grant worth more than $35,000 through a state program — the award that helped fund the new device lending initiative. Budget-related note: due to cuts to the library's FY26 budget, seasonal Sunday hours have been eliminated. The library is open Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
