Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of October 28, 2026

Lakeville's Library Board of Trustees weighed an AI-content policy and approved a new library logo Wednesday. Library Director Jennifer Jones told trustees Patrick Marshall, Ruth Gross and Nancy LaFave that the SAILS Library Network has begun flagging suspected AI-authored titles in its shared catalog and has barred AI-generated content from its shared OverDrive collection. One trustee said, "I don't want to put authors out of business, is what I'm saying." The board took no vote on amending its own collection policy, opting to monitor the issue and revisit it later.

In a separate unanimous vote, trustees approved an open-book logo design for the library's new website, expected to launch in early 2027, and signed off on a surplus list of obsolete computers, a laminator and broken furniture.
