Wareham Announces Outdoor Watering Restrictions and Beach Closures

WAREHAM — The town has announced outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures, while the library rolls out a busy slate of summer programs including a laser tag night for kids on Thursday.

The Town of Wareham announced Outdoor Watering Restrictions and Beach Closures, according to a notice posted to the town's official website. Details on the specific restrictions and affected beaches were not further specified in the notice, though residents are directed to the town website for more information.

The town also highlighted a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled for August 1, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road. A Wareham or Carver transfer station sticker is required to participate.

Separately, the town publicized its new Wareham Silver Alert Program, described as a collaborative initiative to help locate missing seniors, and noted ongoing ADA improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Wareham Free Library has moved to summer hours, with the building now closed on Saturdays through Labor Day. The library's event calendar is active this week: a Laser Tag In the Library program is set for Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m., followed by a Concerts on the Lawn performance featuring Sarah Martin on Monday, July 13 at 7 p.m., and a rescheduled Foamtastic Party also on July 13 at 1 p.m.

The library will also host "Seen By Sea: An Appreciation of the New England Coast" on Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m., a program exploring New England's coastal history and culture.

Elsewhere in town, the Wareham Gatemen collegiate baseball club is hosting an Autograph Night home game Saturday, July 11, part of the summer schedule that also includes a home game Tuesday, July 14.

COMING UP

Several town meetings are on the calendar for the week ahead: the Community Events Committee and Planning Board both meet Monday, July 13, followed Tuesday, July 14 by the Wareham Veterans Council, the Wareham Free Library Board of Trustees, the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School Committee, and the Select Board.

On the community side, the library's Laser Tag night runs Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m., Concerts on the Lawn with Sarah Martin and the rescheduled Foamtastic Party both land Monday, July 13, and "Seen By Sea" is set for Wednesday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. The Gatemen host games Saturday, July 11 (Autograph Night) and Tuesday, July 14, and the Onset Bay Association's Summer Soiree Fundraiser takes place Saturday, July 11.
