Wareham Enforces Water Restrictions as Library Rolls Out Summer Events
WAREHAM — Wareham officials continue to enforce outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures, while the Wareham Free Library rolled out a busy slate of summer programming, including a July 20 lawn concert and an author talk later in the week.

The Town of Wareham's homepage is currently highlighting outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures as an active notice for residents, though specific terms of the restriction were not detailed in the posted alert. Residents can find updates through Alert Wareham and the town's Notify Me subscription service.
Town officials also flagged a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled for August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road, open to residents with a Wareham or Carver transfer station sticker.
Separately, the town announced a new Wareham Silver Alert Program, described as a collaborative initiative to help locate missing seniors. The town also noted continuing ADA improvement work at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell and the recent release of the 2025 Annual Town Report.
Several municipal boards have meetings on the calendar this week, including the Board of Water Commissioners, the Affordable Housing Trust, the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw Review and Revision Steering Committee, and the Select Board.

The Wareham Free Library has moved to its summer hours, closing Saturdays through Labor Day, and is packing its schedule with events over the coming week. A "Concerts on the Lawn" performance featuring the Kareem Sanjaghi Band is set for Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m., alongside a Gatemen Storytime at Spillane Field the same morning at 10 a.m.
Author Judy Lannon will discuss her book "Back to the Cape" at the library on Wednesday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. The library is also holding a Special Quilt Raffle Fundraiser paired with its July Book Sale, running July 23-25, with the raffle drawing on July 25.
Elsewhere in town, the Wareham Gatemen baseball club continues its summer home schedule, with games noted for July 20 and July 22, and Illumination Night 2026 is planned for Sunday, July 19.
