Wareham Town Hall Closes July 2 as Summer Events Fill the Week

Town Hall issued no new announcements overnight, but residents have a full slate of community and cultural events to close out the week and kick off the holiday stretch, headlined by a free outdoor concert Monday evening and a history lecture Wednesday.

Town offices have a closure on the horizon: all Town Hall departments will be shut Wednesday, July 2. Residents who need in-person services from any town department should plan accordingly and handle business Tuesday, June 30, or wait until Thursday, July 3.
The town's homepage also carries several standing notices worth a refresh. National Grid is conducting gas meter replacements in parts of town — residents who have not yet been contacted should watch for scheduling outreach. The town's free Circuit on-demand ride service remains available, and the Wareham Silver Alert Program — a collaborative effort to help locate missing seniors — is now active. Residents with elderly neighbors or family members are encouraged to register loved ones with the program.
Looking slightly further out, the town has set a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day for Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road. A Wareham or Carver Transfer Station sticker is required for entry.
The Onset Fireworks Committee is also gathering community input on fireworks for Onset's 150th Anniversary celebration in 2027. Residents can fill out a short survey on the town website to weigh in on whether and how the town marks that milestone.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Wareham Free Library anchors the next several days with a pair of back-to-back programs.
On Monday, June 29, the library's popular outdoor Concerts on the Lawn series continues at 7 p.m. with the Catnip Junkies. The free show takes place on the library grounds at 59 Marion Road — bring a chair or blanket.
On Wednesday, July 1, the library hosts "The Women of '76" at 6:30 p.m., a program focused on women's roles during the American Revolution. The lecture offers a timely look at the era ahead of the July Fourth holiday weekend.
Also on the town calendar this Tuesday, June 30: a "Butterflies of Great Neck" nature program and a Dance Party with D.J. Ooch — two separate events rounding out the week.
On the baseball diamond, the Wareham Gatemen host the Brewster Whitecaps this Wednesday at Clem Spillane Field, giving Cape Cod Baseball League fans a chance to catch a game before the holiday break.
