West Bridgewater School Committee Approves Superintendent Bodwell's Evaluation 5-0

WEST BRIDGEWATER — June 8, 2026 — West Bridgewater School Committee rates Superintendent Scott Bodwell proficient overall but flags management and operations as a formal area of concern. The committee voted 5-0 at its June 8 meeting to approve Bodwell's annual evaluation, which was compiled from four current members and one former member covering August 2025 through April 2026; a member elected in April abstained from numerical ratings. Four of five evaluators rated Standard 2, management and operations, as needing improvement, citing a licensure oversight involving a district administrator, inconsistent compliance monitoring, and gaps in human resources data. The committee also voted unanimously to establish a $35 annual club activities fee with a $70 family cap, approved a substantially rewritten physical restraint policy — JKAA — that grew from one and a half pages to twelve pages to conform with new state regulations effective August 2026, and added March 1, 2027 as a budget hearing date.
