West Bridgewater Select Board fills Planning Board seat, orders safety hearing for busy intersection

WEST BRIDGEWATER — February 18, 2026 — West Bridgewater Select Board appoints new Planning Board member and advances four-way stop study at crash-heavy intersection. The board unanimously appointed Sarah Conley, a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official, to the Planning Board to fill a vacancy through April 2027, replacing a member identified as Kenehan who resigned. The board directed staff to initiate the public-hearing process for a potential four-way stop at North Elm Street and Crescent Street after police data showed 50 crashes over five years, 34 of them severe enough to require medical attention or transport. Town Administrator David also reported the town has received a preliminary award of a $25,100,000 Massachusetts DOT grant for design and engineering at two intersections: Crescent Street at West Street and Lincoln Street at South Elm Street. The board ratified Karen Badavis as office assistant at the Council on Aging and appointed Emory Grinder to the Cultural Council, and voted to enter executive session to discuss the town administrator's contract.
