Abington's Conservation Commission approved a notice of intent for Memorial Bridge preservation and ADA accessibility work, while pressing ahead on several stalled wetland enforcement cases. Town Planner Liz Shea and project engineer Greg Goodrell outlined plans to repair concrete beams, replace railings and build an accessibility ramp, funded by a federal earmark from U.S. Rep.
Lynch. The commission also amended enforcement orders for properties on Helm Street, Center Street and Walnut Street, set deadlines ranging from November 3 to November 15, and issued a positive determination requiring a full permit for an addition at 121 Thicket Street. The sharpest exchange came over a Bedford Street enforcement case, where Chair Lynn Mullen told the respondent's attorney, "I feel like this is a game that you guys are playing.
I don't think you're really serious," before the panel continued the matter to October 27 with an October 20 status-report deadline.
