Bridgewater's Charter Review Committee reviewed final results of its townwide citizen survey, finding 87 percent of residents want better responsiveness from town officials. Committee member James presented data from 153 validated survey responses, down from 165 after cross-checking against the 2026 Town Census, yielding a 7.9 percent margin of error. Seventy-nine percent said they are dissatisfied with information on town decisions, and 81 percent backed adding a no-confidence recall provision for elected officials.
A separate stakeholder survey of department heads and councilors drew only 17 responses from a target of roughly 30, including two councilors who never replied. "All of the red that was on there should be a stark warning to that council," said committee member Scott. The committee set November 10 to present its findings to the Town Council.
