School Committee · Meeting of November 2, 2026
Kingston School Committee waived the first reading of a slate of policy updates and heard MCAS results. Presenters said Kingston Intermediate School needs no state assistance and posted a 52 percent accountability percentile. Superintendent Jill Proulx said December will bring three FY28 budget scenarios: level service, a 2.5 percent increase and level funding.
She said Kingston's FY28 assessment figure fell 0.3 and its shared-cost percentage fell 1.2. One member warned an override is coming and said scores sit near the bottom of the state's peer group. The policies, including bullying prevention, restraint and medication rules, return for adoption Dec. 7.
