School Committee approves MASC resolutions, safe zones 2-1

WEST BRIDGEWATER — The School Committee voted 2-1 to support a statewide safe-zones resolution and approved four more MASC resolutions, all 3-0. Member Lexi Palmieri, the committee's representative at this week's assembly, said her vote on the safe-zones item would be no. Three members were present.

A district official's data showed raising the middle-senior high busing cutoff to 2 miles would cut eligible riders from 363 to 187. Business Manager Kathy reported $2.8 million spent of the $19.5 million general fund budget, about 14 percent. She estimated a diesel surcharge of $20,000 to $25,000.

The committee then voted 3-0 by roll call to enter executive session on superintendent contract negotiations.
