Plympton Select Board Authorizes Opioid Funds for Dennett School Safety Program

PLYMPTON — March 9, 2026 — Plympton Select Board authorized opioid settlement funds, a construction contract, and a committee appointment at its March 9 meeting. The board unanimously approved a notice of intent to award a $35,500 Townhouse front entrance renovation contract to DDC Construction Incorporated, the low bidder among four submissions, with final execution pending Town Counsel review. The board also authorized $8,500 in opioid settlement funds for a Dennett School resource officer education program, radio upgrades, and police cruiser decals after a police department grant application for the same project was denied, noting that funds could revert to the town if Dennett Principal Judy Hanson secures a separate school grant. Gabriella Falconeri was appointed to the Community Preservation Committee for a term running through June 30, 2029. The board directed preparation of a new lease for the Old Townhouse building covering all users, not just the Plympton Historical Society, after the prior agreement lapsed when the organization disbanded.
