Lakeville commission delays bog-fill hearing pending Army Corps review

Lakeville Conservation Commission stalls a Green Lot Circle home over a disputed "upland bog." Engineer Kevin Davis, representing applicant Cody Febrowski, told the board the wetland his client needs to fill for a septic system is actually a man-made bog, citing a 1937 USGS survey. A former commission member countered that past cases required U.S. Army Corps of Engineers verification before any reclassification.

Abutters Ray and a neighbor identified as Dorathian raised objections over a shared conservation-restricted reservoir and a proposed septic line under a shared driveway. The commission continued the hearing to April 14, demanding Army Corps sign-off, a conservation-contract copy, Board of Health input, and lot-size confirmation. Separately, the board voted to hire engineer Deb Keller for a stormwater peer review of a 29,300-square-foot cold storage addition on Kenneth Welch Drive and closed out a septic hearing on Lakeside Avenue.
