Wareham Keeps Watering Restrictions, Beach Rules in Place This Week
WAREHAM — The Town of Wareham continues to enforce outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures this week, even as a busy slate of summer entertainment and library programming moves forward across the community.
TOWN HALL
The town's homepage continues to highlight active outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures, guidance residents should heed as the summer heat continues. Town officials also flagged the new Wareham Silver Alert Program, a collaborative initiative designed to help locate missing seniors, and reminded residents of the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled for August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road, requiring a Wareham or Carver transfer station sticker.
Several boards have posted upcoming meeting agendas, including the Board of Water Commissioners (July 20), the Affordable Housing Trust and the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw Review and Revision Steering Committee (both July 21), and the Select Board (July 21). The Wareham Housing Authority will hold its Annual Plan Hearing on July 22.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Wareham Free Library has a full slate of programming ahead. Concerts on the Lawn kicks off with the Kareem Sanjaghi Band on Monday, July 20 at 7 p.m., and the library is also hosting a Gatemen Storytime at Spillane Field that same morning at 10 a.m. Author Judy Lannon will discuss her book "Back to the Cape" on Wednesday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m.
The library's Friends group will hold a Special Quilt Raffle Fundraiser alongside its July Book Sale, running July 23-25, with the raffle drawing set for July 25. Note that the library has shifted to summer hours and is now closed on Saturdays through Labor Day.
