WEST BRIDGEWATER — The Water Commissioners voted to open talks with selectmen on placing the water department under the DPW director. Commissioners would remain elected, and the department would keep its own budget and an assistant superintendent. A member said the water department "still operates as the water department." The board approved the office manager's three-year rolling contract and revised water rules and regulations.
Staff said manganese at the Manley Street plant has reached .07 at best against a .05 target, and about $43,000 of ARPA money remains. A planned $1 million borrowing should carry finances to November. Selectmen meet in early June.
