Zoning Board · Meeting of August 3, 2026

Scituate's Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously to continue a 24-unit affordable housing permit hearing to September 21, 2026. Chair Christopher Carchia and members Gregory Fleming, Justin M. Marks, Heath Fahle and Matthew Chin voted 5-0 to grant the continuance sought by applicant First Parish Village LLC for its Chapter 40B comprehensive permit at 210, 214 and 218 First Parish Road.

The proposal would build 24 units, with six restricted as affordable for low- and moderate-income households. Board members confirmed that engineering peer-review comments, fire department feedback and traffic studies generated since a June 22 session had all been forwarded to the applicant, saying the goal was to give the developer "as much feedback as we can so that they are able to come back with a good response." The hearing resumes September 21 at 7 p.m. at the Scituate Emergency Operations Center.
