Board of Assessors · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Kingston assessors learned the townwide field review should finish by the end of next week. The Board of Assessors heard from Maureen that two reviewers are driving past every property, while cyclical inspections resume next week. The commercial appraiser started work at the end of last week, and speakers said small commercial properties, small apartment buildings and garages could rise "like 25 to 30 percent." One speaker guessed residential values might rise about 8 percent, calling it early.
The board reviewed bills, including the cyclical inspection consultant's invoice and a county training for Tara, and set its next meeting for September 22. It then moved into executive session on exemption and abatement applications.
