Carver Planning Board defers Housing Production Plan vote to July 28 as 40R timeline tightens. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to continue review of the town's long-dormant Housing Production Plan — absent for roughly a decade — to its next meeting on July 28, with a Select Board vote to follow at the board's first August meeting before the document goes to the state for approval. Town Planner Sean Lewis told the board the plan is a prerequisite for Carver's pending 40R smart-growth overlay district application and that 70 percent of Carver renters are cost-burdened according to 2024 data in the plan.

Lewis also announced that $5,500 in outside funding was secured to keep Barrett Consulting engaged through town meeting, covering GIS modeling work the town could not otherwise afford. The board separately agreed to move its September meetings to the 15th and 29th after the Select Board reserved the Planning Board's normal meeting dates, and spent considerable time correcting a set of April 28 minutes riddled with errors — including repeated references to a nonexistent board member named "Lewis Clark," determined by process of elimination to be a transcription corruption of member Curtis Lake's name.
