Duxbury Town Meeting approved a $1.89 million override and $98.3 million operating budget, sending the override to a March 28 ballot. Select Board Clerk Fernando Guitart said the last override, in 1989, was "37 years ago." Superintendent Danielle Klingerman said last year's failed override cost schools "just over 18 positions." Voters also approved $1.75 million for an Alden Elementary feasibility study, eligible for 35.42 percent state reimbursement, and indefinitely postponed a battery energy storage zoning bylaw after a scope dispute. A bid to dissolve the Duxbury Beach Committee failed 95-83.

If both budget articles pass at the ballot, the average tax bill rises $1,200, a 9.3 percent increase.
