Halifax Board of Health clears 38 operating permits and appoints a new animal inspector in a seven-minute session. Chair Pamela Engstrom and member David Hatch, meeting without absent Co-Chair Candice Greene, voted 2-0 on every item at the January 21 meeting. The board nominated Sonya Silva as Halifax's animal inspector and approved annual renewals for food establishments including 550 Tavern, Starbucks, and Rodney's Kitchen, along with septage hauler and septic installer permits covering nine companies and 17 individual operators.

Invoice approvals totaled just over $1,000, including a $583.33 nursing services payment to Mary Laurie Montuori and $255 in plan-review fees to Robert Casper. November 2025 meeting minutes were carried to the next meeting because, board members noted, that session had run roughly three hours and administrative work on them was not yet finished.
