Marshfield conservation panel stalls a precedent-setting dock variance, clears routine wetlands work. Commissioners continued a notice of intent for a 273-foot dock and swim platform at 121 Grandview Avenue to February 18, after Commissioner O'Donnell and others said the commission may never have granted a dock-length variance to a property without an existing dock. Engineer Paul Siebert of Grady Consulting, representing the applicants, said narrow river lots of "50 to a hundred feet wide" leave no other option.

Separately, the commission unanimously approved a DPW sewer manhole replacement at Plymouth Avenue and West Brook Street, a septic system upgrade at 70 Damon's Point Road where engineer Peter Lyons said the new tank sits "as close as 28 feet to the resource area," a foundation switch to helical piles at 1177 Ferry Street, and a certificate of compliance for 24 Constellation Road.
