Lakeville Planning Board continues cold storage expansion hearing and launches data center bylaw effort. The board opened and immediately continued to April 23 a public hearing on a 29,400-square-foot addition proposed by Campanelli at 234 Kenneth Welch Drive, where Cold Storage Solutions stores seafood products; civil engineer Garrett Horsfall of Kelly Engineering Group told the board the project would add four truck dock bays and replace an existing exterior ammonia refrigeration system with a CO2 or comparable alternative. The board unanimously voted to seek a spring Town Meeting warrant placeholder for a new data center zoning bylaw, citing concern that without a definition in town code, a high-demand data facility could enter Lakeville simply by applying as an office use; members looked to a recently adopted Mansfield bylaw as a partial model and directed a request to town counsel on whether the existing marijuana overlay district — limited to two industrial areas — could be broadened to cover data centers.

Planning and Conservation Administrator Dan presented a site-observation report on the Pine Crest Village subdivision, flagging road and culvert damage near resident Eric Stanley's driveway at 1 Hickory Drive that he said appeared tied in part to construction vehicle turnarounds, with a road-repair bond described as the primary enforcement mechanism.
