Lakeville's Planning Board ratified a data center zoning bylaw for town meeting and continued two land-use applications at its April 23 session. The board unanimously sent the bylaw — modeled on language from Mansfield and restricting data centers to specific overlay zones by special permit — to an upcoming town meeting, with the chair stressing the measure "is not in response to any pending application." A site plan review for Cranberry Campus LLC's proposed 29,400-square-foot cold storage addition and four new truck dock bays at 234 Kenneth Welch Drive was continued to May 14 pending final conditions review, with the applicant confirming a new on-site well and Taunton Water for fire suppression rather than municipal supply. An approval-not-required plan for 115 and 117 Kingman Street was also continued to May 14 after attorney Christopher Alfin agreed to submit a formal opinion of title to town counsel addressing fee ownership of a paper street bisecting the two lots.

The board also appointed member Donna Gay as its new liaison to a regional planning commission, and the chair said she intends to pursue a joint meeting with the Select Board on the stalled Lakeville Country Club development agreement.
