Norwell Library Launches New Laptop Lending Program

NORWELL — Norwell Public Library has launched a new Device Lending Program, adding four laptops for use inside the building and seven laptops residents can check out to take home, an expansion funded in part by a state technology grant the library was awarded earlier this month.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library now has four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops available for take-home checkout, giving patrons without their own devices a new way to get online, do schoolwork, or handle personal business from inside the library or at home. Staff say residents who want to borrow a laptop can call the library or visit the Main Desk at 64 South Street to learn more.

The new lending program builds on a state technology grant worth more than $35,000 that the library was awarded earlier this summer, funding that is helping pay for the expanded device offerings even as the library works within a tighter FY26 budget. Full details on the program and other library news are available in the library's August newsletter.
