Planning Board · Meeting of November 5, 2026

Brockton Planning Board delayed a 24-unit Father Bill's housing plan over fire safety concerns. The board voted 5-0 to continue the 124 Manly Street site plan review to Dec. 1. Deputy Chief Weeks told members the Brockton Fire Department had responded to the campus 525 times this year and that two intentionally set fires last month remain under investigation, saying "it is when we come here." John Lanham, chief operating officer of Father Bill's and MainSpring, said the eight veteran units in the 24-studio building would use HUD-VASH vouchers.

Earlier, the board approved accessory dwelling units at 1036 and 1044 Ash Street. The continuance requires the applicant to add a full safety plan to its proposal.
