Planning Board · Meeting of October 15, 2026
Halifax Planning Board extended its review of a Walmart site plan expansion and tapped a member for a new zoning panel. The board voted 4-0 by roll call to extend continued hearing PSPR-26-3 to November 30, after Nadine Bailey, representing Walmart, requested a waiver of 36 parking spaces tied to an online pickup expansion, saying the lot "historically operates at a surplus." Members also voted 4-0 to create a $3,000 revolving account for engineering review of the plans and voted unanimously to delegate member James Walsh to the Select Board's newly reformed Zoning Bylaw Review Committee. On Autumn Lane, an unfinished town road, Chair Thomas Millias said the town's decision years ago to accept the street without a bond is "why we're in the mess that we're in," and the board voted 4-0 to ask Highway Surveyor Steve Hayward to review the road after estimates for remaining work ranged from $13,694 to $22,574.
