Planning Board · Meeting of October 13, 2026

Carver Planning Board recommended a Chapter 40R zoning district for the December 1 town meeting warrant and rejected a private-property event parking rule. The board voted unanimously, twice, to approve and then recommend the Chapter 40R Smart Growth Overlay Zoning District, which Town Planner Sean linked to roughly $100,000 in school grants already lost over the town's non-compliance with the state's MBTA Communities Act. Members voted 0-5 against recommending a separate temporary event parking amendment sought by the Carver Police Department, intentionally deferring it to spring.

Vice Chair Mari Ellen Williams said she could not back a proposed EV charging station at Silo Marketplace "from a safety standpoint" over unresolved fire department parking concerns, and the board continued that hearing to October 27.
