Select Board · Meeting of November 3, 2026
Hingham's Select Board voted unanimously to extend conditional job offers to three police recruits. Chief Jones told the board the department has three openings and the candidates, chosen unanimously by an interview panel, start the MBTA Police Academy on Dec. 7. The board also appointed four civilian traffic control officers through Oct. 31, 2027, a pilot Jones said would start small and cost the town nothing because requesters pay for details.
Members signed a DPW supervisors contract with Teamsters Local 25 through June 30, 2029, and conservation officer Shannon Palmer asked for approval of fees not updated since 2006; the board put that vote off.
