Abington Conservation Commission Approves Fill Removal, Grants Final Development Extension

ABINGTON — May 12, 2026 — Abington Conservation Commission votes to start immediate wetland restoration at 15 Groveland Street. The commission voted unanimously Monday to allow environmental consultant Glenn Krabowski of EBT Environment Consultants, Inc. to begin removing approximately 700 square feet of illegally pushed fill from a wetland buffer slope within one to two weeks, with a full planting plan due within seven days. The board also unanimously granted a final three-year extension to CRF Land Holdings LLC for its residential development at 500 Chestnut Street — a seven-year-old project roughly 50 percent complete — warning that missing biannual wetland replication monitoring reports would delay any future certificate of compliance. Chair Lynn Mullen continued a certificate of compliance dispute for 412 Summer Street to May 26, after she said one area near a Summer Street catch basin appeared unvegetated, while the project manager maintained grass had germinated across all hydro-seeded zones; a temporary occupancy permit for the building's residents expires around September. The commission also approved Marion-based John Rockwell as peer reviewer for a small delineation filing by Fruity LLC at 272 Presidential Drive, at a rate of $110 per hour, after receiving only one of four solicited bids.
