Halifax commission opens hearing on Paradise Lane stormwater permit
Conservation · Meeting of July 28, 2026
Halifax Conservation Commission opens hearing on a Paradise Lane home, tables a wetlands land-donation offer. The commission voted unanimously to open a public hearing on a Minor Stormwater Management Permit for 59 Paradise Lane, filed by engineer Lawrence Silva on behalf of applicant Nikolaos Vasvatekis, trustee, near Monponsett Pond. Members continued a 16 Old Summit Street hearing to August 25 and two Amanda's Way hearings to September 8.
The board also weighed an informal offer from a landowner, "Mr. Smyre," to donate roughly 16 and 3 acres of wetlands near a solar array on the Plympton line, saying, "I'm curious to see what Mr. Smyre has to say about it," but he never showed.
A Wood Street wetlands complaint was deferred for lack of a complainant's name. The commission paid $330 to the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions and $50 to Express Newspaper.
