Board suspends steakhouse's liquor license two days
Select Board · Meeting of September 23, 2026
West Bridgewater Select Board suspends a steakhouse's liquor license and sets a transfer deadline. The board found an "egregious" alcohol-policy violation against Monero's Brazilian Steakhouse after an unreported closure tied to a National Grid power shutoff, suspending alcohol sales for two days and warning owner Javier Carrera that the license could be revoked October 21 if new ownership paperwork isn't filed by September 30. "I apologize because I didn't know that regulation," Carrera told the board.
Separately, the board approved a liquor license transfer from Boston Tavern to new owner Tim Townsell's Lucky Goose Tavern, ratified firefighter Nicholas D'Amelia and DPW hires Joseph Amaral and Jordan Dunmore, and voted to raise transfer station sticker fees from $145 to $165, $175 and $195 over the next three fiscal years. Town Administrator Christine also told the board the Forest Street Bridge shows new structural erosion and may require an emergency $200,000 removal.
