Hanson Select Board Hires Dan Walsh as Building Chief
Select Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Hanson hires Dan Walsh as building commissioner, extends Friday town hall closures, and sets a 32-article October 5 warrant. The Select Board, doubling as the Wage and Personnel Committee, questioned Walsh at length on job stability before a unanimous vote; he starts September 21 pending a background check. "I'm not going to take a job that I don't intend to stay with," Walsh told the board.
The board also raised per-inspection pay for alternate wiring, plumbing and gas inspectors to $75 and the alternate building commissioner rate to $100, and extended the town's Friday office closures, which Town Administrator Lisa Green said saved roughly 2,000 kilowatt-hours this summer. Warrant items include $175,000 for a new town server cluster, $230,000 for fire department cardiac monitors, $160,000 for two police cruisers, and camera funding for Camp Kawani after reports of vandalism.
