Panel demands peer review of wetland line
Conservation Commission · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Lakeville Conservation Commission withholds sign-off on a 13-acre industrial park wetland line, demanding independent peer review first. Chaired by Nancy Yeatts, the board heard from engineer Steve Forskall of Kelly Engineering Group on the 240 Kenneth Welch Drive property, where Forskall said state flood-zone concerns were resolved by wetland scientist John Rockwood's findings, but Yeatts said, "I'm not comfortable agreeing on a line without a peer review." The hearing was continued to September 22. Elsewhere, the commission unanimously approved a certificate of compliance for a Miracle Lane home project (SE 192-935), closed a hearing and issued an order for a Montgomery Street delineation (SE 192-966), and required property owner Derek Maxita to file a formal Request for Determination of Applicability before removing seven to eight trees near a wetland at 52 Clearpond Road.
Three other hearings were continued at applicants' request to the same September 22 date.
