Marshfield Search Committee Elects Joe Ring Chair, Begins Hunt for Town Administrator
MARSHFIELD — March 19, 2026 — Marshfield forms a five-member Town Administrator Search Committee and moves immediately to confidential candidate review. The committee, staffed by Interim Town Administrator Peter Moore and HR Director Danielle Kerrigan, held its organizational meeting Thursday evening and elected Joe Ring as chair and Dennis Kelleher — current chair of the Community Preservation Committee — as vice chair, both by unanimous voice vote. Moore, who described himself as a 40-year veteran of municipal administration and executive search work, told members their role is to screen applicants in executive session, select two or three finalists, and deliver those names to the Select Board, which holds final appointment authority. He directed members not to conduct independent background research on candidates, warning that unauthorized disclosures could harm applicants professionally and expose the town to legal liability. The committee voted 5-0 by roll call to enter executive session and did not return to public session, with three follow-up meetings tentatively scheduled for March 24, April 2, and April 7.
