Planning Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

HANSON — The Planning Board voted 4-0 to pursue becoming Hanson's site plan approval authority, now held by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Planner & Director of Land Use Antonio De Frias said 16 of 20 surrounding communities use planning boards, and that the five-member board needs only a majority, versus all three votes at the zoning board. The change needs a bylaw amendment at the May 2027 Town Meeting.

The board also voted 4-0 to re-endorse a lost plan for First Baptist Church of Hanson at 204 and 214 Main Street, signed by Chair Kevin Cohen.
