HANSON — The Select Board voted to accept, in concept, John Toms's offer of donated labor and materials to improve the former Maquan School property. The board's vote is contingent on Town Administrator Lisa Green confirming that the gifts meet procurement requirements. Toms described a patio, parking lot seal coating, a covered stage and benches.
Town Planner Tony DeFrias said a Community Preservation-funded playground is planned closer to the street. The board also adopted an updated agreement with Whitman-Hanson Community Access Corporation, appointed 24 election workers to terms expiring August 2027, and added a Sept. 15 meeting to finish the October special town meeting warrant. Green said articles are due Aug. 20 at noon, with about 30 in hand.
