Select Board OKs Rib Cook-Off Liquor License
Select Board · Meeting of September 11, 2026
Marshfield Select Board approves liquor license for 18th annual Rib Cook-Off in brief, two-member session. Meeting only two of the board's three members present, the board voted 2-0 to grant a temporary all-alcoholic-beverages license to Carlton Chandler of the Marshfield Agriculture Society, covering noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
Vice Chair Eric Kelley offered the meeting's lone substantive comment, saying he hoped the event would "go off without a hitch" and calling it "usually a success for everybody." The board confirmed the applicant had submitted a TIPS certification and certificate of liability insurance before approving the license without discussion. No town administrator's report and no public comments preceded the vote, and the board adjourned at 1:52 p.m. after roughly three minutes of business.
