Water Superintendent Federico Addresses Residents After Boil-Order Lift

NORWELL — Water Superintendent Jason Federico issued a message to residents this week following the town's July 11 lifting of a boil-water order, as officials also warned permit applicants about a scam and put out a call for new town employees.

Water Superintendent Jason Federico posted a message to residents on July 13, days after the town announced on July 11 that its boil-water order had been lifted. The order had been in effect amid the town's broader water-restriction push; a Tier 4 water restriction notice has been in place since mid-June.

Also on July 13, the town issued an alert warning residents about a permit-related scam targeting people applying for town permits. Town officials did not specify in the alert how the scam operates.

On July 14, the town posted a "Join Team Norwell" notice highlighting municipal employment opportunities, part of the town's ongoing recruitment push alongside its published list of open positions with Human Resources.

The Norwell Public Library announced a new Device Lending Program, making four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops available for take-home checkout. Residents can learn more by calling the library or visiting the Main Desk.

The library also said it was awarded a technology grant worth more than $35,000 through a state program, though due to budget cuts it will no longer offer seasonal Sunday hours.
