Marshfield Conservation Commission clears three flood-zone construction projects at July 15 meeting. The four-member commission, chaired by Craig Hannafin and including commissioners Sam Alferanti, John O'Donnell, and Bert O'Donnell, voted unanimously to issue orders of conditions for a deck and entry addition at 46 Foster Avenue, a FEMA-compliant raise-and-rebuild on MacArthur Lane, and a second-floor accessory dwelling unit above a garage at 12 Branch Street. The MacArthur Lane project, presented by Rick Savant of Stenbeck and Taylor, will increase impervious coverage by up to 596 square feet and requires dual erosion controls — a silt sock paired with a siltation fence — to protect a rear drainage ditch.

The Branch Street ADU, brought back after earlier plans were rejected for missing flood vents and an inaccurate wetland delineation, now includes 10 salt-tolerant mitigation shrubs along the rear buffer. The commission also issued certificates of compliance for properties at 31 and 8 Water Street, granted a three-year permit extension for 84 Cedar Acres Road, and approved hazard tree removal at 21 Oxon Drive.
